About me and my therapy practice

I’m Saky, a qualified therapist based in London and I offer long-term and time-limited therapy.

Something I hold in mind with everyone I work with, is their unique identity and how this shapes their experience in the world. What pressures do you experience because of who you are and the body you are in? How does this show up in challenges day-to-day? How might you have been treated or (mis)understood by those around you?

I am particularly interested in relationships. I believe that our well-being and sense of self are strongly linked to our relationship to the world around us and the other people in it. This includes our parents or the people who raised us, our intimate partners, friends and perhaps the relationships we long for.

Practice description

I am a trauma informed, integrative therapist. I trained in London at the Minster Centre, one of the leading Psychotherapy and Counselling training institutions in Europe.

I have experience working for a leading mental health charity and bereavement service, a low-cost therapy service and over 10 years as a helpline volunteer with Switchboard, an LGBTQ+ charity.

This diverse background has given me a broad understanding of the challenges people face in different areas of life.

I work with a range of issues, including:

  • Depression, anxiety, and loneliness
  • Bereavement
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Sex and sexual health
  • Experiences of discrimination related to identity including; homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and internalised stigma
  • ADHD
  • Gender identity
  • Work-related burnout, dissatisfaction or a diminished sense of fulfillment.
  • Childhood trauma

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet, explore what brings you to therapy, and get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit. We will talk about whether we will work together in a time-limited or open-ended way. I will ask you questions about your experiences and what you hope to get out of therapy.

If we decide to work together, we will agree a time that is convenient for both of us to meet every week for 50 minutes.

If you would like to speak before arranging a first session, I offer a free 15-minute phone call to answer any initial questions you might have.
